CG Approves Microphor Sewage Treatment System

The U.S. Coast Guard certification of Microphor's unique biological marine sewage treatment systems for commercial marine vessels has been announced by John M. Mayfield Jr., president of Microphor, Inc.

The northern California manufacturer has installed thousands of systems for the transportation industry, meeting and surpassing all regulations covering surface discharge. Now these same systems, tested by approved laboratories, have passed all of the environmental standards for overboard discharge on marine vessels. Installations have been ordered or installed for a number of customers, including the Port of San Francisco, Scripps Institute, Keystone Shipping, Global Marine, Dravo, Paceco, the Army Corps of Engineers, Santa Fe tugs, and several spill spoilers.

The Microphor system is unique in the fact that there are no power requirements, no moving parts, no explosive gas problem and no sewage odors.

The representatives for Microphor's commercial marine products are Century Marine on the West Coast, and Southeast Applied Research throughout the Gulf Area, with the East Coast still to be assigned.
